Description
A seminal product of the fantastic Glasgow Vibe featuring guitar and blues harp - a dynamic collection of melodic songs with a modern country flavour, ranging from cool ballads to straight rock. The sort of songs that other artists love to cover.
Notes
It's all about the tunes. After trying to build repertoire for Americana bands Justin Ward thought it was about time somebody contributed to the genre. There are straight country rock tunes like 'Martha Goodbody_42' and song about online dating, 'Someone Else's Money', a meaningful line-dance tune and 'Ja Fink', a harmonica feature, with strong ballads like 'Better Things to Do', 'Burlesque Blues', and 'Talking Like a Fool'. Twelve in all, and not a clunker among them.
The Moonlight Flitters were formed in Glasgow in March 2011 at Carlton Studios. The album was recorded over 8 days and maintains the energy and vitality of live performance - which isn't to say it's scrappy, it's tight.
Photos and other media are available from theflitters website, and the Moonlight Flitters are currently performing in and around the Glasgow area, as well as starting preparation for the next album, pencilled in for Spring 2012.
