Notes

“this morning i realized i couldn't go through a full day without listening to this record. for an explanation please see below: north of america bring forth such a great blend of rock and hardcore. these four boys from halifax best represent eastern canada. while weights and measures tend to lack aggression, kepler play subpar mogwai inspired tunes, and the plan lack in catchy hooks, north of america fill in the gaps. they intrigue the listener with passion and panic. its almost like we have to decipher the screams for help. i have never listened to a record so demanding of my full attention, and i have no choice but to give it once i start it up. with two full lengths released earlier, rewika may give them the attention needed to be vastly recognized, and its about time. north of america share two members with the plan. the comparison is valid. north of america play some fast, noisy, aggressive rock music. through the thirty odd minutes of this cd the energy never ceases. there are some dueling vocals to enforce clever lyrics such as "lets hope this ship has a captain" and "every mirror we broke was a black cat". confirmation of genius at work. music no longer has to be as violent as black dice, or abrasive like reversal of man to get ones attention. north of america seduce you into a state of amazement and attentiveness. in a manner so passive-aggressive.“ 9/10 - COLLECTIVE-ZINE.CO.UK (UK)
