In the first decade following the millennium, Michael Medall was spending his time mastering his craft. Influenced by many of the legends before him, Michael strives to bring a real-life essence and genuine feeling to every project he's a part of. This particular collaboration (Live And Direct - EP) is one of those projects. Michael and Decap's energies were aligned in Madison, Wisconsin in complete grace. Decap, hailing from the East Coast United States, had already produced for the likes of: Bone Thugz N' Harmony, CunninLynguists, Royce Da 5'9, The Game, Ro James, along with many other reputable names both within and outside the hip-hop genre. Decap's passion for the creation of sounds with a high frequencies of positivity and light have made him one of the most in-demand producers of our time. Together, Michael and Decap spent countless hours in meditation followed by creation. This process has led to a project that carries that energetic peace within the mind, body and soul. Michael began to perform leaks of the project alongside artists: Mac Lethal, People Under The Stairs, Chris Webby and the list continues. The reactions to the music were consistently positive and full of energy. Having created nearly 20 tracks that were in consideration for the project, it was then narrowed down to the 5 tracks you see here. These 5 powerful works of art from Michael and Decap break the boundaries of what is expected in the hip-hop genre. They've truly created music that has the ability to withstand the test of time. In this day and age it's rare to come across that kind of passion and talent.
