A cinematic journey into electronic soundscapes that carry the listener to the outer reaches of the galaxy.
Notes
The music on this CD was originally composed and premiered at the grand opening of the V.W. Maves Art Center at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois. The eight pieces were composed in the modern “Eclectic” compositional style, in which elements of many 20th Century art music genres are combined in various ways. The musical styles used in these compositions are: Serialism, Minimalism, Musique Concréte, Electro-Acoustic, Ambient, and Aleatoric music. Some of the pieces have been produced entirely by electronic means, while others consist of manipulations of recorded or sampled sounds.
The recordings were created using an Apple G4 tower and a G4 Powerbook. The programs used include: Pro Tools, Finale, Vision, Csound, SoundHack, MetaSynth, Pulsar Generator, SoundMorph, Sandbox, Grainwave, Marcohack, and Waveburner Pro.
