Rock 'n Fuckin' Roll!
Notes
MF Ruckus began recording "Thieves Of Thunder" on January 1st 2014, the day that recreational Marijuana became officially legal in Denver, CO. The album was completed on April 20th that same year. Coincidence? Yes, actually. But still an interesting bit of trivia about one of the hardest rocking bands around.
"Thieves Of Thunder" is LOUD. Its fast. And it kicks some major ass. Is it too metal for Rock 'n Roll? Is it too punk of an album for metal? Am I drunk while writing this review? Or is MF Ruckus just making me feel that good with their new shit?
Older fans of the band will notice a heavier sound than the band's previous effort, "The Dirty Half-Dozen", which is a great live Rock 'n Roll album in itself. This new sound is due in part to the departure of guitarist Tay Hamilton (Hot Apostles), who was a primary songwriter for the group. Hamilton's replacement, Parker Clark Whitton, grew up more on metal than his predecessor and has the chops to prove it. Overall, MF Ruckus is still a Rock 'n Roll band at heart, but "Thieves Of Thunder" showcases more of the bands roots in punk/metal/HC/thrash as well.
