Country CANADA - Ontario

Description

A fun loving party band born of the Southern Ontario Canada bar circuit of the late 1980's when Rock was loud, tops were low cut, and beer was cold!

Notes

Mind over Matter came together in the mid 1980's as a group of guys who had all played in many different bands before and were not quite ready to give it up just yet. In fact we all came from different musical backgrounds, classic rock, metal, country, and one even FROM a different country (but we won't hold that against him). We did have one major thing in common though - we all loved to play live! And with such a diverse background, and all the various musical influences within the band, we couldn't help but develop our own slant on just about everything we played. From The Beatles, Stones, and Dire Straits (to keep the Scotsman happy) to Blue Rodeo, Kim Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughn and, well a whole lot more, we were equipped to play anywhere. And play anywhere and everywhere we did! Eastern Ontario Canada is a big place with a lot of little towns in between the few major cities and a lot of ground to cover just to get to a gig (and yes...sometimes even in a snow storm). But we always made it - and a good time was had by all on most nights!

As for this recording it is sadly the only original work we have done together and was released on cassette tape during that awkward period, when vinyl was on it's way out for a while, but cd's were beyond the budget of most working musicians. Thankfully modern digital equipment has brought the cost of making music affordably within the grasp (and technological abilities) of even a bunch of old guys. Hense this re-issue is now available for you to hear what a hard working, fun loving Canadian "straight ahead" rock band sounded like in the 1980's and 90's. So get some beers and porkies and settle in for the ride!
