Concerning His Son is the 2011 debut album for singer-songwriter Matthew David Fritz. An album of word-for-word scripture songs set to acoustic and classical guitar, as well as piano arrangements, the album features memorable melodies and rich 2 and 3 part harmonies. It also features lively acoustic bass work as well as other complimentary orchestral instruments and percussion. The recordings consist of selected compositions written from 1999-2011. The scripture passages were chosen based on their significance in the divine revelation, revealing the deeper truths in the Word.
Taught in piano at age 8 and later self-taught in guitar, Matthew David Fritz began songwriting at 17 and began publicly performing his original songs at 19. In recent years, he has been writing and recording with his wife Leslie, who performs vocals on track 11 on this album and who is a prominent vocalist in their duo band, Chords of a Man.
