Description
Enchanting solo piano that appeals to every musical taste and paints a portrait of Charleston, South Carolina that is timeless.
Notes
West Coast pianist, Marty Olachea, who has accompanied such notables as Santana and Barbra Streisand, moved to Charleston, South Carolina on a whim for a slower pace of life. In so doing, he got caught up in the history of Charleston and read extensively about the slave trade. This led to his recorded compositions, Venus 1833, Slave Market, and ESMERALDA. And Olachea's approach to the blues is exquisite in his piece entitled "Mrs. Hattie," reminiscing about a basket weaver whom he met at the market in Charleston.
Rhett Butler's Grave transports you to another place in Southern time. On a lighter note, there's Suzette A.M. and P.M., as well as Sweet Potato Pie, which will have you kicking up your heels, although you might have never known it was possible to dance to solo piano.
