Mechanism (Chris Asher) is an explosive producer hailing from the city of Melbourne, Australia, who meshes elements of classical, metal and experimental styles of music to create his own brand of psytrance.

After enjoying success as a founding member and guitarist of alternative band 'Soulaplexus' Chris Asher (aka Mechanism) continued his popularity by joining metal band 'Inflikt' and proving his skill with turntables at venues across Melbourne. Becoming prolific with different instruments and various sounds over the last 12 years he has now found a home for his extensive musical background and experimental design in trance.

Drawing from influences such as 'Rinkadink'(for his sampling), 'Fatali' (for his smooth atmosphere) and 'Infected Mushroom' (for there unusual melodies), Mechanism began writing his own progressive style of psytrance tracks that have now become chart toppers and live crowd favorites including "Amplitude" and "Another World". At live shows the audience can expect interesting melodies with an atmosphere that takes them to another world while still pushing the boundaries of technical ability. Mechanism is a master of taking his guests on an acoustic journey with moments of accelerating tension and musical bliss with an underlying darkness that completes the mood of excitement and suspense. He has accomplished his sound by using a combination of software and hardware to have more hands on control over the arrangement. This gives him the ability to improvise on the rough script of his set. Audiences are pleased to find that because of this approach each performance is unique and a one time only original.

Mechanism released his debut EP "Take What You Know" in 2005 and is available worldwide through Awkward Influence Records®. "Take What You Know" is a six track EP that displays all original cuts and a very special bonus track that will have you begging for more.
