Description
Alternative Southamerican Rock
Notes
From the South American shores of Chile emerges MANATARMS carrying the flag of a very particular form of Alternative Rock, were the energy of motion and rhythm itself (due to their Latin inheritance) is completely entwined with the obscurity of dense and soulful moods.
MANATARMS have already established themselves as one of the best rock acts in their home land with major shows alongside TESTAMENT and OPETH, accomplishing a national tour across Chile, Australian Tour, coverage in the most relevant radio stations of Argentina, Chile, Australia and special TV appearances.
The first influences of MANATARMS came with the music of the 90`; bands such as Nirvana, Faith no More, Tool and Soundgarden became a driving engine and turned to be a perfect fit to classics such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, King Crimson, Rush, Frank Zappa among others. Later, these references have grown wider with contemporary bands such as A Perfect Circle, The Mars Volta, Queens of the Stone Age and Porcupine Tree.
“…MANATARMS has high technical level going hand in hand with passion and charisma; this music style can be appreciated by the most open minded rocker to the most hungry for third minor Metal heads...” Heavy Shit
With two published record on their backs, GALLAUDET (2007) and ANACHORETA (2011), MANATARMS has shown the solid foundations of their creativity and songwriting skills, surprising the Latin American audience with a blend that carries the best of the Anglo and Latin Worlds combined.
“In parts MANATARMS sound like the heavier end of the Rush/Coheed spectrum, approaching Mastodon like intensity […] The music on the album GALLAUDET is of great quality, demonstrating a really high standard of playing, chugging through heavy riffs one moment then switching to soaring solos and high vocals”. Yorkshire soul
“Huerfano, el futuro (the only Spanish spoken song of the record) it`s an spectacular single for ANACHORETA” Rockaxis Magazine.
“Imagine Faith No More and Voivod melting together on the hot dashboard of a Kombi belonging to a hard rock re-imagining of Gojira and maybe you'll get somewhere close…They're a very impressive live band with creative arrangements, a killer rhythm section and a pair of awesome guitarists” – Beat Magazine, Australia
Nowadays, the band is Touring Australia promoting the new record MEZZO FORTE.
This new Album welcomes a new member and old friend of the band: Andres Geyger (drummer from the Collective School of Music New York and session drummer for several records in the USA and Chile) filling the official drummer position after the departure of Nicolas Rossetti in the middle of the 2011. Andres has been playing live with the band since and has recorded all the new drum tracks as well as being part of the song writing process.
