Notes
By Mark Faulkner
Shorelines correspondent - Jacksonville Beach, FL
Like many musicians, Mark Dennison played to some of his earliest audiences at school functions. But he wasn't in a brightly colored uniform or marching band.
Instead, while at High School, Dennison and one of his first bands rocked out at school assemblies.
"I don't even know if they do this anymore," Dennison said of the high school gigs. "I'm still surprised they let us do it. I kind of got off to an early start of playing in bands, performing for people. Once you're bitten by the bug, there you go."
When Dennison's high school days were over, he started performing at clubs first and then toured with various groups. He learned how to play rock 'n' roll, rhythm and blues, funk and other styles. That well-rounded musical education has served Dennison well; in 1994, he formed the FAZE band, which primarily works the private event circuits.
After writing and producing for other artists for years, Dennison decided it's his turn.
These 10 songs span a decade of writing about life, relationships and experiences.
As for a Mark Dennison CD release date, May 1st 2014 is set.
"A lot of it, I'm doing as I'm happy with it," Dennison said. "I'm not on a schedule, I'm doing it as I please. If certain songs or tracks are not right, we're not upset about it taking it a little longer. We're doing it until we're happy with it."
