The Album sounds are composed to make the mind wander through increasingly relaxed soundscapes.
Notes
In the early 1970's at Wright Jr. College, in Chicago, Illinois, I wanted to play every instrument I could get my hands on. In the mid 1970's I loved listening to the National Public Radio Show, "Hearts of Space". Then much later, late 1980's I heard my first sound module, a "Proteus 1". I was hooked. You can play just about any sound. I had to get a digital piano and the "Proteus". That's how it starts, the perpetual buying of gear.
About the same time I got the Proteus, I found out I had one of the most stressful jobs in America. I was a Financial Aid Counselor at Northeastern Illinois University. At my best, I reviewed over 5000 cases a year. The magazine ranked my job as 5th, 4th was emergency room nurse. I needed to escape and relax. This midi stuff was perfect. I just like sonic textures and listening to just a few seconds of music as it sits within the composition. And knowing that all this music, for the most part, is new to the world.
The first song is "Ion Prime" and it is basically an Ableton product. I just pushed all the buttons to create it. I love Ableton Live and think that it is by far the best computer music program on the planet. From the first song to the last, I have tried to make it more and more relaxing. I don't like Music that grabs your attention, but music that makes you sort of space out, and music that can be in the background while you are doing other things. The last song, "Spaceship Earth" is the earliest timewise, created in 1988 with the Proteus. "Siege of Heaven" was done in 1993. "Monolithe on Mars" came about when my friends wanted some space music for their 3-D animation programs. All the other songs were created in 2012.
I hope you enjoy the music as much as I do.
