Description

Just For Today is the debut album for this warm-sounding versatile 25-year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist whose voice is inviting, whose style is magical, and whose folksy jazz pop blues will leave you longing for more.

Notes

25-year-old singer/songwriter Marianne Beard started playing guitar and writing songs at age 15. She grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, then moved to Murphreesboro, Tennessee to pursue her college studies until she turned 21. After serving an eighteen month mission for her Church in Portugal, she resumed her studies at MTSU and graduated in December, 2004 earning her B.S. in Recording Industry with a major in Music Business. Marianne now works, lives and generally makes the roads dangerous in Nashville where she writes and performs her music. She recorded her first album in the summer of 2005 and is currently playing shows in the Tennessee/Alabama region.

Her songs are fresh like warm bread and smooth like soft butter. In short, she is a rising star and her debut album, JUST FOR TODAY, is great "ear candy". The first track, NERVOUS, is a slick, grooving, jazz tune that discusses the unsure and curious emotions of fresh love. AFRAID OF CHANGING is about all the fears that accompany any life-changing event. BROKEN is a solid ballad about finding someone who loves you regardless of all your human imperfections. JUST FOR TODAY is a fast, upbeat tune about the desire for acceptance. The last track, I STILL DO, is a bluesy song about lost love. These are sure to go to the top of your play list!
