Description

Second album of L.Stadt band produced by Mikael Count (Dj Shadow, No Doubt, Living Color).

Notes

L.Stadt is one of the most interesting European rock groups around today. The members of the band met in Strasbourg in 2003. Raised under the influence of rock music, these young men decided that you “can’t be a prophet in your own back yard”, so L.Stadt is going out playing beyond the borders of Poland. The works of L.Stadt were hungrily eaten up by music fans and critics, and the young men were compared to The White Stripes, The Strokes, Blur, and other bands which have a reserved spot in the rock Olympics. L.Stadt harmoniously fuses modern rock with old school. Their songs feature powerful electric guitar, the energetically pulsating rhythms of two drummers, and the vocals of Lukasz Lach, which seem to float straight out of scratched vinyl records of The Velvet Underground. L.Stadt is deservingly called the forerunner of rock music in Poland and has scooped up a multitude of awards within a span of a few years. After releasing its debut album in 2008, the quartet was called best polish rock export worth and the band‘s hit single, Londyn (only song in native language), was nominated for the best rock song of the year at Poland‘s prestigious ESKA Music Awards which was surprise because this award is rather for pop industry not alternative which L.Stadt is. L.Stadt have played almost 200 club and outdoor shows in Poland and abroad, including USA, Canada, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Germany, France, England, Croatia and Serbia. On 4 July 2008, L.Stadt opened the Tent Stage at Poland’s largest festival Heineken OPEN’ER, and in September, they rocked the Young Talent stage at the PKOBP LONDON LIVE festival at Wembley Arena in London. On 13 June 2009 they played at biggest Lithuanian Festival Be2gether and 28th of August they performed on ViertelFest in Bremen. In 2010 they played 4 official gigs on SXSW and few gigs around Texas in Houston, Dallas and Ft. Worth. This year they played most of the festivals in Poland like Maj Music Festival in Katowice and again Heineken OPEN'ER and Coke Festival in Cracow. They have been invited to play CULTURE COLLIDE in L.A. and got to the finals of INDIE WEEK Canada in October 2010. In December 2010, L.Stadt released their second album. Mikael Count (Radiohead, DJ Shadow, No Doubt) from SF did the mixing and mastering.
