Notes
Los Pirata
Some say it's "surf and punk" or "neo country", some say it's just fast rock and roll with a fake Spanish flavour. No matter the "recipe", the fact is Los Pirata is one of the most interesting bands in Brazil's recent musical scene.
Sold-out concerts, amazing "hi-tech/lo-resolution concept videos", explosive live performances and lots of experience after playing at major festivals and venues all over Brazil endorses Los Pirata as a "world wide ready" band about to conqueer other territories.
"Don't resist. Surrender, you must."
Los Pirata was born in San Pablo after 9/11. In 2003 they debut with "En Una Onda Neo-Punque" which included instant hits like "Nada", "Paloma", "No Se", among others. In 2006, after three years riding bikes, looking for UFOs and having babies they were back with "La Re-Vuelta", a more polished album with a concept:
"Warning! Perception requires involvement", borrowed from multimedia artist Antoni Muntadas
"Pancho", "Sur", "Lospi Gospel", "Blackbird" (yeah, a Beatles cover) and a special "wake-up call" for the Brazilian people: "Republica de los Bananas" (didn't work).
