Notes
The Lyrics Game started out as an internet chat-room: two sexy post-teens trying to stump each other with lyrics from their favorite bands. In a moment of inspiration, two things struck them. 1) Making music would be much more satisfying than sitting around talking about it. 2) "The Lyrics Game" would be a great name for a band!
And so for several years, Brittany and Dan tossed musical ideas across the vastness that is the world wide web. Occasionally performing for a small groups of friends, they garnered a reputation throughout Long Beach as one of the cities best kept secrets: If Dan and Brittany were at your party, you had a ticket to the most exclusive show in town. And they never failed disappoint.
Teaming up with Brandon, they began feeling out the sonic possibilities that a full band offered. And with the final additions of Matt and Chris, they had a lineup with limitless possibilities. They began branching throughout Southern California, leaving behind a plague of toe-tapping wherever they went.
Awaiting the release of their first professional recording, people clamored for even a snippet of what was to be released. Most likely, nobody expected something like Home Edition. Songs like Mexico will gently tuck you in to bed, and Touch will stalk your every thought once your eyes close. This is a record for lovers, dreamers, and people terrified of what might be behind door #2. But most importantly, its a way to bring the band into your house, like its name implies. Home Edition is your very own slice of a pie that is equal parts melody, creativity, and whiskey.
Some Great Things Said About Home Edition and The Lyrics Game:
"The female vocals are truly emotional. They have a fragileness over them but at the same time good strength. This is a great, mellow pop song." - GarageBand.com
"They started and it blew me away. A lot of energy, just full force and they have a beautiful sound." - BigSmileMagazine
"The perfect soundtrack for a rainy night in november, in front of the fireplace, all alone."
"Sounds like Sarah McLachlan"
"I dont know who you sound you guys got a unique sound, please dont lose that and dont worry about who you sound like. You sound great."
