Notes
I enjoy songwriting, not only as a creative outlet, but also as a challenging craft about which there is always more to learn. I really admire thoughtfully crafted and arranged songs, like those by The Beatles, Nick Lowe, John Hiatt, and Jeff Lynne for example. My first album, “One Million Memories”, contains a number songs I wrote between 2009 and 2014 while participating in songwriting workshops at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago
I feel that every song has something of value that can be appreciated because it’s somebody’s personal creation. My lyrics often reflect very specific experiences or memories I have of friends and family, but I try to unwind them a bit to give a more open meaning. I like to have a positive bent in my songs when I can; even in my more introspective songs, I like to think there's at least a hint of hope or inspiration in them.
