"The Last Summer" is the third full-band Lifeguard Nights album and the conclusion of the trilogy* that began with "The Church of Song" and continued with "Punch Sky."
It's great, I think.
*not really a trilogy in the Star Wars sense, which would make this Return of the Jedi, and nobody likes Return of the Jedi, although I don't know why, cause who doesn't love fucking Ewoks (I don't mean "fucking Ewoks" as in like making love to Ewoks, I was just being enthusiastic about Ewoks because that's how much I love Ewoks)...but a trilogy in the sense that there are three full-band Lifeguard Nights albums where we recorded the basics live in a studio first, and this is probably going to be the last time that we make an album like that. We are still going to make albums.
