Born from the cast off dregs of countless lesser known Boston bands, Strangeways sonic esthetic is melded from the band members common love of the aggression of post punk, the textures and landscape of shoegaze, the rhythms of Manchester with the rough edges polished by pop sensibilities. Their influences include VU, T-Rex, Echo and the Bunnymen, My Bloody Valentine and The Ravonettes and hundreds of others, past and present.
2012 saw the band grow in fits and starts, finally settling on a lineup of Mike Ackley (bass), Bilvox (guitar and vocals), Jason Keisch (drums) and Brad Emerson (guitar). The band, the website, the music, the epic loves remain in a constant state of reinvention and refinement. We hope you'll check back often for new music, news, videos and shows.
