Notes
Martin and Greg met for the first time in early 2014 via a website that connects musicians. They embarked on a writing collaboration for an Australian Song Competition. This ‘first song’ hurdle opened the doors to more creativity. They also both enjoyed the possibilities afforded by home studio technology and wrote, recorded, edited, mixed and mastered the whole album.
They each brought different strengths, sensibilities and playing styles to the project. While each song was largely an individual concept/creative effort, the collaboration brought different perspectives on arranging and mixing, and a fresh pair of ears. Songs were often pushed in a new direction or brought back from the brink. While each will probably admit to being control freaks and that the hardest part of collaboration is .... collaborating ... they each gained from what the other could offer.
In the end it was all about striving for the best lyrics, music and sound.
