Description
layered rock using two guitars bass and drums from houston, texas
Notes
Lush and layered rock for your listening pleasure. Melodic frameworks provided by guitarist and lead vocalist Lani Ordone are plushly garnished with drive and purpose by drummer / bassist Frank Bullington and guitarist Brian Bell. Tracks "Bowtie" and "Kerosene Tooth" pulse with smooth restrained grooves and guitar interplay that veers from delicate and densely layered, to jagged and fractured, reminiscent of bands like Swervedriver and Hum. Tracks "Everything Else" and "Dumb Thing" deliver grouchy chugging riffs and an odd-time straight up rock bash likened to Weezer and Queens of the Stone Age.
The resulting record is a satisfying melding of styles and influences, with a twist and flavor all its own. lemonenemy can sound like something familiar, but this sense is often vague and fleeting as the songs bend in unexpected directions, while the singular stylistic thread running throughout the eleven tracks reveal itself. This record unexpectedly documents a sharp focus and a cohesive vision that surprised even the band.
