Description

A fresh approach to contemporary jazz for those who enjoy the smooth or fusion end of the spectrum

Notes

My name is Larry Munoz. I created the Laz Jazz project because I want to provide music that is both unique and appealing to those who enjoy contemporary jazz. My primary influences are David Benoit, Eric Marienthal, and The Rippingtons.

I played Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Baritone Saxes, and also Clarinet.

This is the line-up of outstanding musicians who helped me nail down the 5 tracks, along with the sound engineer who recorded, mixed, and mastered them:

Piano/Keyboard
Nicole Pesce is a monumentally talented and versatile pianist/keyboardist who has performed for Muhammed Ali, Ricky Martin, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Lewis, and George Bush, Sr, to name a few.

Bass
Mel Brown toured with my favorite jazz saxophonist, Eric Marienthal, for 2 years, is a two-time Grammy Award winner, played on 10 number one singles and 6 number one albums.

Drums and Percussion
Perry Senn is an excellent, highly energetic and well-rounded drummer, endorsed by Rob Chiarelli, David Garfield, and Chris Colangelo. Perry is a consummate professional and a pleasure to work with.

Flute ("Dad's Blues" track)
Lisa Munoz

Trumpet ("Just Before [Something Happens]" track)
Dan Reed

Sound Engineer
John Wroble is the owner of Porcupine Studios in Chandler, AZ, and was one of the engineers who worked on the Grammy-winning album “Givin’ It Up” with George Benson and Al Jarreau. John has also helped engineer additional albums with George Benson, including a Boney James album (featuring George Benson) and an album by The Kingston Trio.
