Description
A soulful raw and melodic sound that keep you hooked and wanting more...
Notes
Well here it is... years of time and song building with the band and coming together with the concept of the album. I always knew I wanted to make an album one day, but never knew that ONE DAY would be NOW. I consider myself to be blessed and lucky to have had the opportunity to build and expand in my songwriting skills through collaborating with fellow artists and my Nashville, TN meets NYC venture. I pay much respect to Dave Dawson and Even Steven who are members of the core band "Lauren Diamond & the South Paw Specials" and Aaron Nevezie from Bunker Studios to have put together such an amazing record that will live on forever.
The name of the EP (consisting of 6 songs) is called "In the Rough" as it is still in the works and represents the phrase "Diamond in the Rough..." which is a part of my personal story and theme to driving on regardless of what happens...
The full-length 11 track album (including a raw and intimate acoustic track at the end) is titled "Perseverance" due to the nature of the songs, my personal journey and the project itself as it took years to construct and a lot of patience, dedication and drive. I have a true love and appreciation for all of my fans and I hope to reach as many people as possible to connect and help people feel like they could identify with the music. I wrote almost 100% of the tracks and was blessed to work with two musicians Matthew Dickey and Vin Scialla on two major tracks of the record "Whatcha Gonna Say" (Vin Scialla) and Stab Me in the Back (Matthew Dickey). This whole experience has been a major growth for me as an artist in the understanding of how much work truly goes into personally financing a record, organizing the artists and keeping a solid focus to ensure execution.
During this record, I finished my master's degree in higher education and there were times that I honestly wanted to put my hands up and say &*$# it, but I PERSEVERED through and kept it steppin'...
I truly hope these songs will have the slightest impact on you and inspire you in some way to either not feel alone, drive on through rough times and to stand up in a room when everyone else is sitting down to take a stand. Music is a universal language and this is such a gift that I get to release "Perseverance" to the world. I welcome you to check out my first music video on YouTube:
