Description
Melodic progressive rock influenced by Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson and Dream Theater.
Notes
What happens when a couple of prog fans with home studios get together and decide to write some music? This album is the result. Is it perfect? Is it chock-full of precise and prodigious self-indulgence? Not so much.
Well, ok. Maybe the two longer tracks are a bit self-indulgent.
But we write progressive rock because it's what we love and what we know but we don't write "prog for the sake of prog". We never started a song, liked its sound and then said, "Hey, this needs to be in 13/8 because 4/4 isn't cutting it."
We're huge fans of Porcupine Tree, Frost* and Steven Wilson. If our music reminds you of any of those bands, we're nothing but pleased. If one or more of the tracks speaks to you lyrically or musically, we are honored to be a part of that.
Ultimately, we wrote these words and these songs because they speak to us. Because they tell the truth and because sometimes when you start writing with someone you discover an energy that is bigger than each individual. You discover that you both have the same sense of what it means to speak truth through music.
Hopefully, you'll hear that in ours.
