CountrySoul is the next CD from tunesmith Jeff Kossack and his studio band of L.A. based players, as they journey through blue-eyed soul back to the band's Americana and Country music roots...

Jeff Kossack, singer-songwriter and producer begins this journey with the blue-eyed soul tunes, in the styles of Van Morrison and Leonard Cohen, then turns deeply introspective before returning to his Americana leanings. Plenty of love songs here, like always, but also some topical pieces about thew world we live in. This journey through these song styles took Jeff way out of his comfort zone, but the album does indeed flow like a good journey does. Standout tunes - April Fool - a love song to Jeff's wife during her recent bout of breast cancer, It's About You, a duet with Nashville songwriter , Rachel Pearl, pays homage to Bob Wills and early Asleep at the Wheel, music that greatly influenced the artist's musical style, and Lessons of My Father, a swamp-style tune of angst growing up with a tough love kind of father... Who can't identify with that... All in all, Jeff is most proud of this sequel to his last CD, HalfLife, which he feared would be his last meaningful collection... Internet radio has responded quite well to this collection, and those playing it say that Jeff still has many, many good tunes yet to write.... His next record, due in 2014 is completely and is in pre-production already... Also, Jeff is part of the songwriter supergroup - TMG, aka The Tall Men Group... They are currently touring and there will be a CD from them due in April, 2013... Watch for it....
