Notes

A Native of the Bluegrass State, Marcus Click was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Born into an active family (music and sports), Marcus first expressed his initial instrument of choice, the flute. His interest later changed to the saxophone when he was impressed with the late Grover Washington, Jr. Marcus played sax in Elementary and Jr. High School.

After high school, Marcus committed over 10 years of his young life to the U.S. Navy. During this time, his love for jazz grew by listening to the likes of Kirk Whalum, Marion Meadows, Najee, Gerald Albright, Dave Koz, the late Art Porter & George Howard. Then Marcus began playing at functions while still serving in the Armed Forces. "I became truly inspired by a phone call in 1993 from the late George Howard and correspondence from Dave Koz in 1991. "I would listen to songs by Gerald Albright as well. So, Contemporary Jazz became apart of his genre of choice as well.

In 1998, while attending Graduate School, Marcus met Bruce Allen, a professional recording artist/co-founder of Allen & Allen, two-time Stellar Award Winner for Gospel Jazz. Bruce's encouragement motived Marcus to stay with it. Then in 2001, Marcus performed for Rebbie Jackson (sister of Jackson 5) and family during a weekend show in Las Vegas. In summer of 2003, Saxophonist / Recording Artist Mel Holder, who has performed with the National Gospel Artist, Donnie McClurkin, was placed in the path of Marcus to play as a sax duet, during an International Conference in Jacksonville, Florida.

Since then, Marcus has continued to travel and play locally in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2004, one notable performance consisted of playing at the annual Jacksonville Jazz Fest Jam. During 2004, Marcus also connected with saxophonist Marion Meadows, who's provided support. Najee would even contact Marcus lending his support on his debut project Movin'. In 2005, Marcus performed for the Convoy of Hope, a Superbowl XXXIX Event, sponsored by the National Football League (NFL) early in the year.

Marcus released Movin' under the Indie Label, Seventh Realm Entertainment. Movin' will display a blend of upbeat hypnotic tunes, urban hip hop jazz style to intimate smooth sounds, with creativity able to set the mood for any occasion.

Marcus is now working to release his next CD in the coming year, with some top Billboard Recording Artists/Producers lending support for the production of a project sure to become a hit in many homes! Stay tuned and a new website will be launched to support the new release as well.
