J.W. Moore is a gifted composer and performer whose credits span nearly three decades. His modern classical style, influenced by artists such as Mannheim Steamroller, George Winston, Dave Grusin, John Williams and others bears an unmistakable energy and spirit.
Born in 1972 in Boise, Idaho, J.W. Moore has traveled throughout the North American continent, performing in all 50 United States and 7 Canadian provinces. He has been featured as a guest composer and performer with the University of Utah Ballet and The Moving Company. His first solo piano album, Perspectives, was featured on KUER radio and is currently available on the MusicOn label. His anxiously awaited follow up album Now and Then will be available spring of 2006.
Having studied experimental composition with Tracy Lind Peterson at the University of Utah in the early 1990’s he continued his musical education at UCLA, earning a certificate in Film Scoring in 2005. While at UCLA he studied composition, arrangement, orchestration and conducting with renowned professionals such as Robert Drasnin, Thom Sharpe, Craig Stuart Garfinkle, Lee Sanders, and others. J.W. Moore lives in Salt Lake City where he continues to perform and compose.
