Since 2009 Judy Parker is the blossom of thawing sound. Intimate vocals that drip like icicles. Rhythm falls deep and hypnotic like heavy snow on the roof, with mahogany rich guitar to warm hands and feet. Embodying the genre of “Arctic Pop”, Judy's music is not mistaken. Arctic Pop is Wolf meeting Swan on a frozen lake. They sing to warm the ice; the child born of such a night is Judy Parker.
As you listen you will discover that the songs, rather than fitting a specific genre, are more like stories, each one taking you in its own direction. The first album, Gone to Seed, is where you will find the more vocal, melodic sounds and poetic lyrics. Blessings, in contrast, takes you into a rich ambient world, combining Northwest sounds with instrumentals, to create a world that you can travel to whenever you need a refuge.
