Description
This is my first attempt at recording music. Most of the lyrics are poems that were actually written by my mother when she was a young girl in rural Arkansas between 1935 and 1945. I made the music and she is the one singing. She's 85 this year.
Notes
I created this music in a small home studio. I have always liked music that tells a story. I am not a professional musician by any means. My mother walked about a mile down a fairly steep hill on her lunch break to a music store in the town where she worked and bought a guitar to give to me. I was 13 years old at the time. We were both suffering through a painful family tragedy and both felt lost. That guitar was my life raft. I will be 60 this year and she will be 85. I arranged and played most of the music myself and my mother is the one singing. Its a real labor of love as the lyrics are from poems that she had written as a girl in rural Arkansas. Some of them are based on real events. This is my first attempt at composing music. We hope that you enjoy listening to us.
