Astral Selections is Karius Vega's 5th release, released along with its counter part album Intellectual Explorations. Astral Selections features flowing melodic movements and select chill out vibes. Opening with "Kamala", Vega sets the stage for a journey through compassion. "Moon Light Shining Through a Memory" and "They Cheer for You" bring out deep vibrant emotions that strike the listeners very core. Flowing gracefully from one track into another, similar to the colors of the cover, the listener may "Relinquish Space and Time" and experience "The Breakthrough", then rest in a paradise. Tracks like "d.tract", "Streaming Contour", and "In.tact" have an almost urban feel, while still being completely out of this world. "Polar Alignment" has the child like innocence previously heard from Vega on albums Ataraxis and Music to the Eyes, but in a much more mature way. "Unconscious Existence" begins in a familiar reality, then completely breaks that reality down into near chaos, and reforms that reality into pure beauty.
This album is a definite musical maturation for Karius Vega, and one that many will be able to feel, relate to, and enjoy.
