Notes
The "Jack London Suite" was composed by James Behr as the soundtrack for the feature documentary film "Jack London: American Original," directed by Ben Goldstein. The music varies with Jack's adventures from the Alaskan Klondike to England, Hawaii, the South Seas, and Mexico. These original compositions by James Behr include ragtime, folk, country, solo piano and symphonic works. They depict the San Francisco Earthquake, the slums of London, the bucolic Jack London Ranch, Jack's socialist lecture tour, and Jack's struggle as he rises from poverty to become the highest paid and most controversial author in America in the early 1900's. Romantic themes are also part of the scoring and highlight Jack's love affairs, which were followed by newspapers and fans worldwide. James Behr has been lauded as "A demon pianist" (The Boston Globe), "A brilliant pianist" (The Voice), and "Genius Composer" (InTheFray Magazine).
