Notes

This album contains a mix of musical styles that will keep you interested and engaged. The songs are personal yet speak to almost everyone in some way. I have been a musician from Montgomery, AL for over 30 years. Although I had often been encouraged to "go for a record deal" or otherwise pursue music full time I always held on to a full-time job and helped my wife raise our family. It was an absolute delight to record this album with my two precious sons, John Taylor Thornhill and Robert Willis Thornhill. John and I wrote these songs between October 2011 and February 2012 and the entire album was recorded at Retrac Studios in Lineville, Alabama in six sessions during this time period. Robert Willis was able to join us for one of these sessions the day after Christmas and added some excellent acoustic guitar and mandolin. My dear friend Kenny Head came over from Athens, Georgia and added his fabulous keyboards and a unique artistic touch. Bryan Carter did an outstanding job of engineering and adding the bass and drum tracks. The songs are fresh, unique, and intellectually stimulating. John and I realized that Letting Go was not just the title of one of the tracks, it was also a recurring theme throughout much of the album. Letting go of the human tendency to fix, manage, or control others and of those negative and destructive patterns in our own lives is crucial to discovering genuine joy and happiness. We hope this album will bring joy and happiness to you!
