YELLOW HAMMER HEART is a Garage-icana Waltz-Rocker trio, located in the HEART of the Magic City. Founding members Tyler and Adrienne Applegate came to Birmingham from Wisconsin in 2011 looking for some much needed sunshine and hopes of a new sound. Before the move, Adrienne and Tyler played over 250 live shows and festivals in the upper Midwest with the band Dear August. Upon arrival in the Magic City, Adrienne traded in her acoustic guitar for electric, and picked up some locally-made Sitori Sonics pedals; meanwhile, Tyler found a set of vintage drums. They were joined by keyboardist Angela Senicz, longtime Birmingham resident and older sister to lead singer Adrienne, and Yellow Hammer Heart was born. The trio’s first album, RED HOT JUNE, was recorded at Magnetic Audio with Emanual Ellinas. RED HOT JUNE was mastered by Mark Whitcomb at DNA Lab in beautiful Madison, WI.
