Xenia Gargali and Periklis Biskinis present their first album “Plastelini” which is the outcome of an artistic co-operation of musicians specialized in different genres, all with an intense desire for experimentation. A fresh, new generation of musicians is here to sweep the Greek music stage with their invigorating sound. Perikli’s compositions contain melodies sounding like fairy tales, electro sounds creating atmospheric landscapes, lyrics that tell stories. A colorful mosaic consisting of an explosive mix of soul, acid jazz and pop, complemented by the unique vibraphone and afro brass sounds, bring New York's big orchestras in mind. “Plastelini” (which means play-dough), as it is evident in the name, cannot be strictly placed within a particular genre. The songs of this album are characterised by multiplicity and multicolourfulness, reminding us of the colourful play-dough of our childhood changing forms and shapes. “Plastelini” brings together world music, jazz and funk music as a musical surprise and aspires to indulge you with its unconventional sound. Xenia's mesmerizing performance is set to fly you away. Her warm, sunny voice, her passion and expressiveness come together to fascinate Plastelini's audience into a heated music love affair, under a well balanced blend of western sounds and Greek lyrics.
Plastelini’s music after all is a psycho-acoustic experience comprising a multi-rhythmic landscape of various musical styles, their multicoloured harmony, the direct simplicity of their lyrics, sometimes combined with a provoking dance rhythm, other times with a rock, blues, funky character, with apparent influences from Greek music.
