Description
A hard rock band from Texas. Part of the Wild Silas Musicworks “Houston Sound” along with King’s X and Galactic Cowboys. The band is all about heavy groove, thought provoking lyrics, bluesy vocals and harmony. Too sacred and too secular for too many.
Notes
Atomic Opera is a hard rock band from Texas. Part of the Wild Silas Musicworks “Houston Sound” along with King’s X and Galactic Cowboys, they were signed to a sub label of Warner Brothers Records and released the critically acclaimed album “For Madmen Only.” The band released a video on MTV for the single “Justice” and toured with Dio in 1994.
Atomic Opera is all about heavy groove, thought provoking lyrics, bluesy vocals and harmony. Often considered too sacred for the secular and too secular for the sacred. Deeply visceral and majestic music storming like a monster-truck eighteen-wheeler then slamming on the brakes to pedal around quietly on a tiny tricycle with dense vocals oscillating through the riffs. Gigantic, soaring, tidal wave of explosive melody flying on pounding grooves riding precarious waves of sound.
When the sub-label folded for political reasons, “For Madmen Only” fell through the cracks and was lost. Twenty years later it is available again.
Feel free to mess with the groove.
