Description

A cultural bridge of Greek and Polish music through two concerts for guitar(s) and orchestra, two creative transcriptions of traditional music and an elegy.

Notes

Symbiosis in music is for me the way of coexistence of different musical cultures. This coexistence-symbiosis is the goal of my activity as a composer.

Odysseas Konstantinopoulos

Greek music tradition… Centuries, in this troubled and trampled by invaders land (ironically identical to that of Poland), our people with pain and passion, weaved rhythmic and tonal patterns with so much complexity, as much as temperament, that's the truth. Getting mature, as humans as well as artists-musicians, our need to communicate our musical heritage became increasingly gigantic. How much more blessed would have been this situation then. This "recording” marriage of two cultures. Our soul searching confession, two outlying studies, our two versions in loving "essences" of Greek land. With deep love and respect.

The dream of every performer is to have the good fortune in his artistic path, to present first in the world a work and if it is possible to establish stigmatizing it with his interpretation. When this moment finally comes and the work is a beautiful concert and even dedicated to a great master and man then reality is beyond any dream. Odysseus, Mr Firla I hope I live up to your expectations ...

It has been engraved forever in our memories and in our hearts, the moments that Odysseus Konstantinopoulos announced that he composes a concerto for us. Our agony but also the immense joy and satisfaction that we felt when we first listened to it. The preparation on our guitars and finally the realization of a recording of this album. Through this partnership we saw ourselves in the notes of Odysseus and we hope he saw himself on our strings as well. Thank you ......
