Description

Original, memorable tunes. Eclectic range of styles. Profound truth shared succinctly.

Notes

The first ten tracks have Gary singing--the last ten tracks could have you or someone you know singing. Many of these songs would be a blessing as solos in worship, especially for certain seasons or occasions:
Your Bethlehem--Advent and Christmas seasons.
Believe--Easter season.
Higher than the Heavens--Ascension.
For You--Communion.
Alive--Funeral.
We Are His--Matrimony.
And in various seasons...
The lyrics are registered with ccli--please share lyrics if possible by screen or bulletin when you use them.

Some notes on a few of the tracks:
“Higher Than the Heavens”
CFW Walther had a great Ascension Day sermon, where he contrasted Christ’s ascension with others in heaven. He’s not just IN heaven; He made heaven and can’t be contained by it. He ascended higher than the heavens, so as to also be ready to fill his little brothers and sisters and have us also in Him.
“Believe”
The Bible records Jesus telling Thomas not to stop doubting (weakness or questioning of faith) but to stop his unbelief—to stop disbelieving (most translations seem to be careful with this point). When he says we who’ve not seen are blessed, that’s a hint for Thomas—he blessed us who didn’t get to see with his witness, from the first century to the twenty-first.
"To Death and Life"
If you read the parables in Luke 14 about the guy building a tower and the guy facing war, ask what cost Jesus is telling us to count, there. Isn’t it the cost of going without Him?
Gary Scharrer is an LC-MS pastor, currently serving a very loving family of believers NNW of Chicago.
