Notes

Frantic Gingers debut album “Inside Your Wasteland” reflects the bands influences all melted into one. From Los Angeles 80’s and 90’s punk with a little sprinkle of todays pop. An all female trio from Los Angeles, influenced by punk, sleaze, goth, pop, what? When talking about the lyrical inspiration for the 2014 album, singer/bassist Nicki Tedesco mentions that she listens to a lot of 80’s underground LA punk. Learning to play in the 90’s absolutely shows when comparing this work to the riot girl movement in the 90’s. The pop element in songs like Those 4 Words and No Default, still do not hide the punk undertones giving a fresh look at these styles. Suicide Note immediately draws you in with its' playful opening riff which drives through the song with a fun punk/surf guitar solo. Hitting Gravel comes completely out of nowhere with it’s 7 string dive bomb opening and is a great way to keep the listener engaged. Sighting the influence of Black Sabbath’s “The Warning”, Frantic Ginger pull off agony with attitude better than any other all female punk trio…wait, there aren’t many of those, now are there?
