Description
Original Latin jazz compositions featuring the harp.
Notes
“Music of the Three Americas” is Patrice’s latest CD, featuring Latin Jazz and original music on the harp. Her New Orleans music group, Arpa, is complemented by guest musicians from Brazil, & Honduras.
“Music of the 3 Americas” CD features Patrice Fisher’s original compositions, like "Xocos," "Sao Cristovao" and “Muito Thank You.” Her compositions have a Latin American influence with plenty of syncopation & rhythmic flavors from the Northeast & the Southeast of Brazil and the Garifunas of Honduras.
Brazilian musicians, Chiko & Rogerio & their group, play on 3 of Patrice’s compositions & contribute their own vocal pieces, “Guatemala” & a Portuguese version of “What a Wonderful World.”
Musicians from the Orquestra Popular de Ilhabela in the south of Brazil, contribute an beautiful trumpet solos to Fisher’s compositions, “Sleeping Angels,” “Tai Chi Cycling” and their own arrangement of Brazilian standard, “Lugar Commun.”
From Central America, we add the compositions of Honduran violinist, Angel Rios, “Numada” “Cancion de Amor.” with the rhythmic participation of Garifuna drummer, Eduardo Lopez.
We refer to ourselves as Americans, but there are 2 continents in the Americas, with many distinct cultures. We tried to make an international exchange of ideas among musicians from North America, Central America and South America: “Music of the 3 Americas.”
