Notes
Born and raised in the city of Philadelphia, I was surrounded by music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s in my youth. I also sang both in church and local school choirs. This gave me a solid foundation in which I developed a strong background for the types of music that influenced me. Groups like the Temptations, The four Tops, The Intruders, Enchantment, The Manhattans, The Dramatics and the Dells were standards that not only played on the radio but in many of the house parties that I went to. I also spent many nights standing on the Philly corners crooning with the fella’s . I remember my cousin giving me the album the Ice Man Cometh and as I sang along with the record I decided that I would try my hand at styling myself after both Jerry Butler and Paul Williams of the Temptations. In the 80,’s I started to write my own material and wanted to find a studio to lay down my tracks. I was directed to singer, producer, songwriter Bill Jolly. It was there that I began to fully realize my potential as both a writer and singer. From that period on, I would find myself writing and making songs and laying tracks whenever I could afford both the time and money. Bill Jolly was a great inspiration to allow me both the time and tenure to develop. I also took every opportunity to audition whenever possible to get a feel for how my music was being accepted. I had opportunities to work in the Bill Jolly Choir and we worked with Michael Bolton and Celine Dion, the late Groover Washington as well as other artists. Since then I’ve produced two CD’s Now is the Time and my current CD In The Middle of the Room. Both feature original material that I have written since 1987 to 2008. I hope that you enjoy listening as much as I have enjoyed putting my words to song.
